November 11th is a day of such significance in Canadian history that the federal government has awarded it statutory holiday status. St. John’s Shaughnessy Anglican Church (SJS) has always had a service at 10 am on November 11th (rather than on the Sunday closest to November 11th) since it is designated as a memorial church. This year St. Mary’s is joining St. Johns for this service, and the names of those from this parish who died in the World Wars will be read out along with those who were members of SJS. You are invited to attend this service to commemorate the lives and memories of those who fought and died in service of their country. St John’s looks forward to welcoming you at 10 AM November 11th.
