This year, the Community Donations Committee is offering you the opportunity to donate to open your hearts (and wallets) to give extra support to two worthy charitable organizations right here in our Vancouver community.
- The Street Outreach Initiative, headed by Fr. Matthew Johnson on the Downtown Eastside, distributes gift cards to people in need throughout the year, to be used at Tim Horton’s, Macdonald’s and Subway. These are given out as needed, and are much appreciated by the recipients.
- The Lookout Society, which will again be operating a warming centre here at St. Mary’s, to provide shelter during the coldest nights to guests who are experiencing homelessness. Year round, Lookout offers a variety of
services across 22 municipalities in BC that include shelters, housing, overdose prevention services, health supports, outreach, and clinical and community resources.
**Last year, we raised $3000.00 for our Christmas initiative. We would love to top that this year!!
Here’s how you can donate:
Visit our table in the Parish Hall on Sunday, Dec. 7th or 14th to make a donation and add an ornament to our Christmas tree. Credit cards, cheques or cash will be accepted.
