Michael has been called to serve St. Mary's at this time after the hard work of the search committee, a choir evaluation process, interviews with myself, and glowing recommendations! We are grateful that our hopes and dreams for St. Mary's music program and community aligned with his values, gifts and overall approach to music and choir and that God allowed our paths to cross at this time! To the Parish of St. Mary's Kerrisdale,
I am deeply honored and excited to have been called to serve as your new Director of Music and Organist. I would like to thank Rev. Lindsay Hills as well as the members of the selection committee and choir for making the process of exploration so engaging and positive. As a long-time resident of Kitsilano, I am delighted to join a community so close to home. I'm looking forward to seeing some familiar faces and, more importantly, getting to know all of you.
My first Sunday with you will be on October 5, 2025. I believe that music is for everyone, not just those who perform it. With that said, I am of course excited to work with the choir, whose reputation precedes them. Together, we will use music to help the entire parish deepen its connection to faith. My aim is to use my creativity to foster a sense of community and collaboration, and I am very open to new ideas. I warmly welcome your feedback and suggestions on hymns or any other ideas you have for the music ministry.
